The Burning Sky: Book Review
This was adorable. I’d land it somewhere between 3.5-4 stars.
It took me a little while to get into this one. The beginning was a bit slow and confusing. I think it picked up around the page 100 mark. By the time I met the princeling; and realize everything he’s got up his sleeve… well things got interesting.
I really loved the magic system (the vaulting, jumping into a live scenario book, etc…). Really creative and fun world! Though at times, I found myself a bit lost.
The characters were SO sweet; despite the banter (which I’m a total sucker for). I was rooting for them (and still am!) I fell in love with them so quickly. Titus makes it to one of my top favorite characters list. He’s so noble, loyal, kind… and absolutely devious. Great combination. Iolanthe was a bit selfish and frustrating at times – but she’s growing on me.
I’m still terrified that something might happen to one of them.. *ahem*.. On to book 2….
